A proposal for setting up a modern fertiliser unit to supplement the ageing units at the Namrup-based Brahmaputra Valley Fertiliser Corporation Ltd, the lone fertiliser unit of the region, is under active consideration.
According to BVFCL sources, the Centre is likely to take a decision on this in the next couple of months.
