Working 24x7 in extreme conditions deep below the Rohtang Pass (13,051 feet), engineers and personnel of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) have reached the first milestone less than a year after they set out to build an all-weather road link to the Lahaul-Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh and strategic areas of Ladakh.
The first kilometre-length of the 8.8-km tunnel has been completed.
