Order of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zonal Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Kishore Samrite Vs. Union of India & Others dated 11/08/2015 regarding conservation of lakes in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh with special reference to Devi Talab.

The Tribunal in its order asked the "state as well as EPCO to submit before us whether the State would consider establishment of a centralised agency under the State authorities for providing necessary infrastructure and assistance to the local bodies firstly in respect of prevention of discharging of sewage into the lakes which is a major source of pollution as also for providing necessary infrastructure and equipment for cleaning the lakes to improve the water quality and reduce pollution in these lakes."
