Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Tribunal on its own Motion Vs. State of Himachal Pradesh & Others dated 18/08/2016 regarding felling of trees for the Parwanoo-Solan four-laning project, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. NGT directs the Chief Conservator of Forest, State of Himachal Pradesh to file his personal affidavit in relation to the trees that have already been cut for the project in question, how many trees are proposed to be planted and how many have already been planted.
Counsel appearing for NHAI submits that they have provided money (Rs. 2,56,88,290/-) and deposited the same to the Forest Department for re-afforestation.
