Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Giriraj Parikrama Sanrakhan Sansthan & Ors. Vs. Department of Environment & Forests & Ors dated 26/08/2016 regarding non-forest use of forest land in Govardhan in Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh. Mr. S.K. Shukla, Divisional Forest Officer, Mr. Sujoy Banerjee, CCFI/C Court Case Division, Uttar Pradesh and the Counsel appearing for the State of Uttar Pradesh submitted before the Tribunal that the area in which the recommendations are to be executed lie partly in the State of Rajasthan and partly in the State of Uttar Pradesh, that is Village Poochari, in District Bharatpur, State of Rajasthan and villages Jatipura, Goverdhan, Radhakund and Sakitara in State of Uttar Pradesh. They reveal that only 6.07 acres of the total forest area lies in Village Poochari and demarcation of the forest area lying in both the States is underway.
