Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Court on its own motion Vs. State of Punjab dated 29/05/2017 regarding delay in Amritsar STP project. The affidavit filed by the Project Proponent as well as the State of Punjab states that that there are certain deficiencies which are still persisting in the functioning of the plant. Secondly, they are not able to take 100% sewage generated, for treatment of it in accordance with law.
The Project Proponent submits that within two weeks all deficiencies would be set right positively and plant would become 100% operate by that time. NGT makes it clear that in the event of default Rs. 10 Lakh as environment compensation would be imposed.
