Order of the National Green Tribunal (Southern Zone, Chennai) in the matter of M/s. S.P. Surendranath Karthik Vs Southern Railway Chennai & Others dated 26/05/2017 regarding encroachment alongside railway tracks in between Old Washermanpet and Vyasarpadi Jeeva stations, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Counsel appearing for the State of Tamil Nadu has submitted that the State Government is prepared to spend the amount for the purpose of rehabilitation of encroachers, so that the encroachers of the railway lands can be removed but wants sharing of financial burden in respect of the activities.
