Order of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zonal Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Nitin Singhvi Vs The Commissioner, Nagar Palika Nigam, Raipur & Others dated 19th January, 2018 regarding solid waste management in the city of Raipur, Chhattisgarh. It has been observed that the solid waste management rules have not been complied with by the Municipal Corporation Raipur. Also in some areas like EWS and BSUP colonies the garbage had not been collected since the year 2012 and there are huge heaps of garbage dumped in the colonies which has now become a health hazard for the residents who are residing there. The Municipal Corporation is directed to remove this garbage immediately and a compliance of the same be filed before the next date of hearing (7th February, 2018).
