Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Social Action for Forest & Environment (SAFE) Vs. Union of India & Others dated 22/02/2018 regarding Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) licenses for the industries producing absolute alcohol (Ethanol) in Uttar Pradesh. The distillery industry wants modification of the NGT Order (30th August 2017) where the Court directs PESO as well as State of Uttar Pradesh and all concerned States to take appropriate action in accordance with law i.e. hazardous waste, chemical waste rules and the PESO as it is the competent authority to issue licenses.

NGT disposes of the Application and asks the Industry to apply to the authorities to request to conduct the site inspection.
