Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Veterans Forum for Transparency in Public Life Vs. Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Bihar & Others dated 12/03/2018 regarding collection and disposal of of bio-medical waste by a unit in Bihar. The Applicant (Veterans Forum for Transparency in Public Life) have sought enforcement/ compliance of the NGT order dated 24th October, 2017 requiring Central Pollution Control Board, State of Bihar and Bihar Pollution Control Board to prepare an inventory of the Unit generating bio-medical waste, its collection and disposal as to whether it is being done in accordance with Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016. But all the three Respondents have failed to file the report.

NGT directs issuance of notice of show cause as to why, apart from taking such penal action as permissible under provision of the National Green Tribunal Act, 2010, environmental compensation shall not be imposed as the adverse impact is relatable directly to their inaction.
