Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mothers Pride Public School Vs. State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 04/09/2018 regarding quashing of order passed by the District Magistrate, Sitapur in the matter of dumping of garbage at City Waste Garbage Dump Yard in violation of Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016.

Applicant is running a school at Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. Adjacent to the school, a plot of land has been requisitioned by the District Magistrate for setting up of the garbage dump yard. The Applicant states that the landfill is within 200 meters from the school and that a buffer zone of no-development is not maintained around the site. NGT calls for a report from the the Principal Secretary, Urban Development, State of Uttar Pradesh.
