Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mahanoy River Safety Society Vs State of Bihar & Others dated 11/03/2019 regarding construction on the Mahanoy river, Munger, Bihar. NGT had given the State of Bihar 10 days for submitting Government Notification prescribing the criteria for maintenance of distance for construction from the river bank. But on the day of hearing the counsel has submitted that no such rule has been framed by the State.
[2] NGT directs the Counsel to file an affidavit regarding this. Further the State has been directed to maintain status quo in respect of the construction in question as we are considering as to whether such construction is permissible in the area or not.
