Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Residents of Bhatpara Municipality Vs State of West Bengal dated 02/04/2019 regarding illegal sand mining in District North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, near Naihati Bandel Railway Bridge, Kanchrapara Bansberia Road Bridge at Jagatdal Meghna Ghat. The report submitted by the West Bengal State Pollution Control Board (WBSPCB) corraborates the fact that sand mining was taking place in which four boats with suction facility were being used.

The Tribunal directs the WBSPCB to take further steps in the matter in accordance with law and furnish a report within two months.
