NGT observed that it is not known what is the present stage and what are all the action taken by the Government and the concerned departments to remedy the situation in compliance of earlier orders passed by the Tribunal in the matter. So the concerned authorities, namely SPCB and the Irrigation and Waterways Department, Government of West Bengal and concerned Municipal Corporation, are directed to submit the present status and also action taken for rejuvenation of River Adi Ganga. The above mentioned parties are directed to submit the action plan prepared for rejuvenation of the river Adi Ganga and also the steps taken for clearing the pollution and make it a pollution free river and what is the present status within two months.
