Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Lubna Sarwath Vs Govt. of Telangana dated 21/05/2019 regarding restoration of Bum-Rukn-ud-Dowla a historic heritage water body of around 104 acres, opposite National Police Academy, Shivrampally, Hyderabad.

Report furnished by the state PCB does not show adequate steps taken for preventing dumping of waste and sewage and encroachment. It is stated that encroachment has been removed and demarcation of the boundary of the lake has been done. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is planning treatment and remediation in consultation with NEERI.

In view of the above, NGT directs that further steps be taken and a report be furnished by the Secretary Urban Development Department, Telangana within two months.
