Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ajay Pandey & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 26/07/2019 regarding illegal sand mining on the Yamuna river bed between Etawah and Jalaun District including Auraiya District, Uttar Pradesh.
[2]A report was sought by the Tribunal on May 2019 from the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) and the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Uttar Pradesh, which stated that there was no illegal mining. But, the applicant in person challenged the report and submitted photographs in support. The NGT, taking into considerations the photographic evidence directs a new report to be furnished by a joint Committee comprising Member Secretary, SEIAA, Uttar Pradesh and the Member Secretary, State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) within one month.
