Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Society for Protection of Environment and Biodiversity Vs Union of India & Others dated 27/08/2019 regarding stone crushers operating in districts of Hamirpur, Banda, Mahoaba and Chitrakoot.

NGT had asked the District Magistrates to file affidavit on the matter. But the facts and figures given in respect of Chitrakoot was found to be inconsistent. The State Pollution Control Board has asked for more time to verify the facts and file fresh affidavits. While filing fresh affidavits, all the District Magistrates have been asked to state the actions they have taken against the units which are operating without having consent till date or those which had operated till the date of closure.
