Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Avatar Vs State of Tamil Nadu dated 20/09/2019 regarding pollution of lakes and water bodies in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

The Tribunal had sought a report from the Secretary, Irrigation Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the matter on January 15, 2019. But inspite of many adjournments and reminders no report was submitted. As a result, the NGT asks the Chief Secretary, Tamil Nadu to look into the matter and ensure that proper report is filed before November 4, 2019.
