Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Manoj Mishra Vs Union of India & Others dated 06/05/2020 regarding rejuvenation of river Yamuna.

The Tribunal had constituted a Yamuna Monitoring Committee (YMC) to oversee the execution. However, in view of lock-down due to Covid-19, the stake holders including the Delhi Development Authority and the Chief Secretaries of Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh have not been able to give their respective response to the Committee. The Committee has, thus, sought further time to give its final report in above terms.

The NGT grants further time to the committee and directed the concerned parties to furnish their response to the YMC expeditiously before May 31, 2020. Then the Committee would submit its report before June 30, 2020. The report should be in tabular form, indicating the progress achieved, the issues which still remain pending and the roadmap for further course of action with timelines.
