Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Praveen Richariya & Others Vs State of Madhya Pradesh & Others dated 03/06/2020 regarding granite mining in Khasra No. 593, Gram- Luv Kush Nagar, Chattarpur, Madhya Pradesh. The area covered is 11.75 hectare.

The application called for quashing of prospecting license issued in February 2016 to the miner and issue closure directions and quantify the damage caused to the environment.

To look into the matter, the NGT directs constitution of a joint committee comprising of : (i) Collector, Chattarpur (ii) Representative of Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board and (iii) The Mining Officer, Chhatarpur.

The joint committee has to submit a report on the matter within four weeks.
