Report on behalf of Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) in compliance of National Green Tribunal order of November 1, 2019. The matter related to illegal operation of M/s Kaimi Rice Mills (also called M/s Tirthankar Rice Mills), Fatehabad Road, Ratia, District Fatehabad. During inspection, it was found that the unit was engaged in manufacturing of kachcha rice, covered under the green category.

But the unit was running without obtaining CTE and CTO from the HSPCB. Show Cause notice for closure under Section 43/44 of Water Act 1974, closure under section 31-A and legal action under section 37/38 of Air Act 1981 was sent to the unit vide letter dated November 13, 2019. The unit was found lying closed on inspection during May 8, 2020. The regional office, Hisar of HSPCB has recommended prosecution action against the unit for running without CTE and CTO. The HSPCB would also ensure that strict vigil over the operation of the unit is kept, so that no illegal activity is being carried out.
