The East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) has outsourced garbage management services in its area which include door to door segregated collection and transportation of municipal solid waste and C&D waste.

The water supply by Delhi Jal Board especially from Wazirabad and Chandrawal WTPs, which supply water to the central Delhi gets adversely affected due to discharge of organic and inorganic pollution load at various points in the territory of Haryana, upstream of Wazirabad barrage.

For solving the problem of foam formation due to the presence of phosphate - upgradation of all STPs by Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi to treat the waste water with bio nutrient removal has to be done which should take 3 to 5 years depending upon the availability of funds - the action plan by Delhi Jal Board (DJB) said.

Further, the DJB in its status report on construction, upgradation of YAP-III projects in Kondli, Okhla, Rithala and Coronation Pillar STPs - has said that three of the projects are scheduled to be completed by December 2022.
