Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Kalpana Mallik Vs Chief Secretary, Govt. of Odisha & Others dated 02/02/2021.

The matter related to the non compliance of the NGT order of December 16, 2019. The order directed for the identification and demarcation of flood plain zone of river Kapali at Nalanga, District Bhadrak, Odisha and to ensure that there is no construction in the flood plain zone.

The applicant filed an affidavit objecting to the action taken report filed by a Joint Committee stating that there was no identification of the flood plain and no removal of encroachment.

The NGT, February 2, 2021 directed the Secretary, Water Resources, Odisha, with the assistance of District Magistrate, Bhadrak to ensure compliance of the NGT order of December 2019 and file an affidavit on the matter.
