Affidavit filed by the state of Rajasthan in OA No. 04 of 2013 (Sonya Ghosh Vs State of Haryana & Ors.) dated 22/06/2021. The NGT, October 23, 2018 had directed the identification/classification of forest areas incorporated under Aravalli Notification, May 7, 1992.

District level committees were constituted to get the exercise done and the work of the committee started, December 7, 2020 as per the directions of the Rajasthan government and under the chairmanship of Chief Forest Conservator, Jaipur.

A total of 58908.635 hectares of land has been recorded by the Revenue department under Aravalli Notification. The forest land recorded in Alwar forest division under Aravalli Notification is a total of 72174.091 hectare area and the forest land recorded in Sariska Tiger Reserve under the notification is 106210.89 hectare area.
