Prayer in the application was for a direction to finalize the design of rain water harvesting system in the light of the opinion of the experts mentioned in the application. According to the applicant, the rain water harvesting systems now being used by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation and the Delhi Jal Board are not of proper design, resulting in water contamination.
The NGT disposed of the application saying that the effectiveness of a particular design to be used for rain water harvesting system is a matter which can be dealt with by the concerned statutory regulatory authorities on merits.
