Final report of the State Level Committee on solid waste management in the state of Odisha constituted by the National Green Tribunal order in Original Application No. 606/2018 dated May 2020.
The report mentioned the proposed time frame for implementation of SWM rules in urban areas - July 31, 2022 was the time frame for compliance for the bio-remediation or capping of old and abandoned dump sites. Further, bio-remediation or capping of old and abandoned dump sites include Bhuasuni site (Bhubaneswar), Chandani Pahad site (Berhampur) and Chakradharpur site (Cuttack).
