Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rahul Dev Sagar Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 16/03/2023.
Grievance in the application is against failure of the Gram Panchayat Gurgawan, block Tilhar, district Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh to scientifically manage wet and dry waste as well as waste from veterinary hospital. Further, it was alleged that such waste was burnt to the detriment of environment.

The NGT, directed the matter to be looked into and and remedial action taken in accordance with law by Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board and District Magistrate, Shahjahanpur. The SPCB would be the nodal agency for coordination and compliance.
