Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of R.D. Singh Bandral Vs Union of India & Others dated 17/04/2023.

The matter related to protecting the flora and fauna of the Kailash Kund-Seoz Dhar region by declaring the same as protected area and not to allow construction of the road in the said region as the same will have an adverse impact on the environment there.

The court directed summons to be issued to the Chief Engineer, Public Works Department (R&B) and the DFO, Bharderwah, requiring them to appear before the tribunal on May 25, 2023.

The NGT directed stopping of further construction of the road in question in the area from Chatter Gala to Kailash Kund via Seoz Dhar till further orders.

The Deputy Commissioner, Doda and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda are also directed to take all requisite steps to ensure that no such further construction in respect of the road in question in the area from Chatter Gala to Kailash Kund via Seoz Dhar takes place in violation of the order passed by the court.
