Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mohan Singh Bagri Vs State of Uttarakhand dated 27/04/2023.

The matter related to failure to handle muck generated in the course of construction of Semlata Kafna Dungra motor road under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in district Rudraprayag, Uttrakhand. It is stated that the construction has been going on since 2018 and muck is being unscientifically dumped to the detriment of environment and public health. There are guidelines laid down by the public works department (PWD), Dehradun on the subject but the same are not being followed.

In view of the complaint, the NGT directed the District Magistrate, Rudraprayag and Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board to look into the matter and take remedial action following due process of law.
