Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Shri Lal Ji & Others Vs State of Haryana & Others dated 28/07/2023.

The issue raised in the application was unscientific and unregulated dumping of municipal solid waste and construction and demolition waste on public land in khasra nos. 127, 157 and 164 by Nagar Parishad of Palwal in an open area in village Hodal Garhi Patti, district Palwal, Haryana.

The NGT directed submission of a report from a joint committee comprising the District Magistrate, Palwal; Municipal Commissioner, Nagar Parishad, Palwal and one representative from the Haryana State Pollution Control Board.

The Committee was directed to visit the place and submit the factual and action taken report within four weeks giving details on discharge of waste at such non-notified sites and punitive actions against violators and further ensuring that waste generated in the jurisdiction of Nagar Parishad Palwal is processed at identified sites in accordance with the rules. The State PCB will be the nodal agency for coordination and logistic support.
