Erode City Municipal Corporation report to the National Green Tribunal dated 22/08/2023.
Implementation of Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 and Plastic Waste Management Rules 2016 has been enforced in the Erode City Municipal Corporation. The target of 100 per cent processing and disposal of wet waste, dry waste and construction and demolition waste has been achieved. In addition, bio-mining in Vendipalayam and Vairapalayam dumping yard has been completed.

The legacy waste in the river bank of Cauvery at Vairapalayam is entirely cleared through bio mining technology. As of now no solid waste and legacy waste is polluting the river Cauvery. The legacy waste in Vendipalayam of around 6 lakh cubic meter of legacy waste is cleared through bio-mining technology.
