Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter Gauri Maulekhi Vs Govt. of NCT of Delhi & Others dated 09/11/2023.

The issue involved in the Original Application is in respect of operation of dairy farms on Yamuna floodplains in National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi.

The stand of the counsel for the applicant is that in the representation, all the details of the 60 dairies along with the photographs operating in violation of the norms with full particulars were disclosed, yet no action has been taken by the concerned authorities.

The Tribunal, taking into consideration the grievance by order dated August 24, 2023 directed the constitution of a joint committee. The committee was required to carry out the spot inspection and examine the truthfulness of the allegation made in the petition and submit a status and action taken report before the tribunal within six weeks. Through the six weeks period has expired but till now no action taken report has been submitted.

The NGT, November 9, 2023 listed the matter for December 19, 2023 and granted two weeks time to comply with the order failing which the Member Secretary, the DPCC will remain personally present before the Tribunal on the next date of hearing.
