Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) has expressed deep anger and shock at the lackadaisical attitude of the finance minister in this recent budget towards energy guzzling vehicles and the need for public transport in our cities.

This new report on Indian urban infrastructure and services by the High Powered Expert Committee (HPEC) chaired by Isher Judge Ahluwalia set up by the Ministry of Urban Development in May, 2008 documents the nature of the urbanisation challenges facing India.
