CO2 emissions from fuel combustion highlights 2015

In the lead-up to the UN climate negotiations in Paris, the latest information on the level and growth of CO2 emissions, their source and geographic distribution will be essential to lay the foundation for a global agreement. This annual publication covers more than 140 countries and regions and covers: estimates of CO2 emissions from 1971 to 2013; selected indicators such as CO2/GDP, CO2/capita and CO2/TPES; a decomposition of CO2 emissions from electricity generation into driving factors for key regions; and CO2 emissions from international marine and aviation bunkers, and other relevant information. The twentieth session of the Conference of the Parties to the Climate Change Convention (COP21), in conjunction with the eleventh meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 11), will be meeting in Paris, France from 30 November to 11 December 2015. This volume of "Highlights", drawn from the full-scale study, was specially designed for delegations and observers of the meeting in Lima.
