 Stove secrets [1]

Gas stoves are environmentally more sound than electric stoves, says a new study by the Danish Environment Protection Agency. They emit five times less carbon dioxide (CO 2 ), a greenhouse gas, and nearly 100 times less sulphur dioxide (SO 2 ), a generator of acid rain. Power for electric stoves comes from thermal power stations, which use coal to generate electricity, emitting enormous amounts of CO 2 and SO 2 in the process. On the other hand, natural gas , used by gas stoves, emits considerably lesser amounts of these pollutants
