 Electronic syringe [1]

Surgeons perpetually fear risking the life of the patient they keep under anaesthesia. Deciding on the exact dosages of the drugs required bothers many of them. The problem has been resolved by a team of scientists in the UK (New Scientist, Vol 148, No 2005).

Researchers at the Royal Adelaide Hospital have developed a computer-driven syringe that delivers the right amount of drug into the patient's body while the surgeons operate upon him. The software matches the delivery rate of drugs with the amount that the body can withstand.
