A ship carries cargo from India to Bangladesh on the Brahmaputra. Similar step is being taken in Orissa too Bhubaneswar, July 9: Plans are afoot to develop a national waterway (NW-5) connecting the Brahmani and Mahanadi with the now-defunct East Coast Canal of the British days, extending up to Geonkhali in Bengal, at an estimated cost of Rs 2,000 crore.
