Extensive damage to standing crops caused by floodwater [1]

Various crops including transplanted aman on nearly 1.34 lakh hectares and some 6.90 lakh small and marginal farmers in twenty-four districts have been badly affected due to flood throughout the country.
A detailed report prepared by the Department of Agricultural Extension on Monday showed that the standing crops of 1,33,864 hectares out of the total inundated farmland of 1,93,337 hectares have already been damaged.
About 6,89,898 small and marginal farmers in these districts have also been affected because their crops have been damaged by the onslaught of flood.
