As civic body struggles with solid waste, apartment complexes may soon have to manage the waste in their own backyard, writes Kannal Achuthan

By 2015, Chennai will run out of space to dump garbage in Kodungaiyur and Perungudi yards. The need to put solid waste management systems in place is more urgent now than ever and the Chennai Corporation is looking at various alternatives.
