SHILLONG: Lyngkyrdem village, about 50 km from the State capital, is grappling with a crisis that is worse than the one facing Sohra, the wettest place on earth.
Inhabitants of Lyngkyrdem toil day and night for a bucket of potable water. Let alone pipe or tap water, even natural sources of water in the village have almost run dry.
