Bonojyotsna, an NGO working in the field of conservation of natural resources and maintenance of ecological balance has been trying to generate public awareness about local species of fishes which are trapped on a large scale for commercial purposes in the wetlands and other water bodies of Golaghat district, thereby pushing several species to the brink of extinction.
