THEKKADY: Fissures and leaks in the more than a century old Mullaperiyar dam are increasing with rising water levels, and new cracks have been detected in at least five spots by the Mullaperiyar Special Cell, headed by former KSEB chief engineer M K Parameswaran Nair, which inspected the site on Wednesday.
