Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank launched Ganga cleaning campaign 'Sparsh Ganga' at Muni-ki-Reti, Rishikesh on Thursday. The function was organised by NSS cell of HNB Garhwal University. To promote Ganga cleaning, he announced an incentive of Rs 11 lakh and to make the event historic, he announced to celebrate 17th December as Ganga Cleaning Day.
