Karnal: The government has decided to launch a Rs 179 crore project for channelising the Yamuna, which turns into a “river of sorrow” during the rains, eroding vast tracts of land.
The project envisages construction of “studs” at vulnerable points where the Yamuna frequently changes course and causes floods.
