KALPETTA: The Forest Department evicted encroachers from a 50-acre cardamom plantation in the Mundakkai section of Meppadi Forest Range in South Wayanad Forest Division, under the Forest Protection Act -1969, on Sunday.

The plantation was set up by encroaching vested forest land, according to the Forest officials. The owners of Mallika Estate encroached the forest land, the officials said.
