With the state government gearing up to draft the Master Plan-2025 for rural areas, village panchayats may soon lose their freedom to allocate land for hospitals or schools as per their wishes.
The urban development and housing (UDH) department has selected 100 villages, with a minimum population of 10,000, across the state for their centralised planning.
