Chromium mining threatens to wipe out village in Kadur [1]

Chikmagalur: People in this non-descript village are up in arms against the decision of the government to allow mining in the area, following the discovery of chromium deposits. They feel that mining will cause environmental degradation.

mineral rich: The hullubandi (gomala) at Sanklapura village in Kadur taluk where chromium deposits are said to be found.
