Farming activities affected as rivers become dry KRISHNAGIRI: Rampant sand mining on the rise in Krishnagiri has led to fast depleting of the district's natural resources and groundwater table. The officials of the Public Works Department claim that only 100 to 110 trucks with two units of sand are being allowed to be mined from the Markandeya River bed at 11 places per day.
