 HAIR RAISING PROBLEM [1]

The Delhi high court has issued notices to the Central Pollution Control Board, Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Delhi Development Authority and the Police Commissioner in a petition regarding pollution caused by burning of human hair by hair traders in Jwalapuri, west Delhi. A division bench comprising justice Y K Sabharwal and justice K S Gupta asked the respondents to file their reply to the notices by September 23. The bench was hearing a petition filed by Movement for Improvement of Landscape Environment and Society which alleged that hair burning was causing serious health hazards as it emitted toxic gases.
