Since May 25, windmills have contributed 31 to 34 per cent of the total power consumed in the State every day.
Tamil Nadu has nearly 7,000 MW of installed wind energy capacity and peak generation from these windmills has remained above 3,200 MW for the last 12 days. According to data available on the website of the Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation, on May 25, of the total 227.296 million units of energy consumed in the State, 75.002 million units were contributed by wind energy.
